PROPOSAL FOR A FAMILIAR SPACE WITHIN ISA

The objective of this work was to create a green space inside Instituto Superior de Agronomia, the campus of the agronomic and environmental sciences school of the Technical University of Lisbon. The spot chosen was a large and quite degraded area near the Tropical Institute, which is crossed by the shortest path between the classes auditoriums and busy spots like the main building and the cafeteria. The design chosen intends to improve accessibility to those who walk through this space and also to create a comfortable resting point between classes for students’ enjoyment. The design makes use of the natural topography of the site and mixes traditional hard materials with endemic species, traditional agricultural species and commonly used exotic species.
